Drawings from the Moleskine

Just a quick post to share some new little drawings. The Moleskine from the trip to Europe got filled up within a day or two after I returned, so I bought a new one a couple of weeks ago. The watercolor drawing up there was from our trip to the cabin in NJ. The drawings below… Continue reading Drawings from the Moleskine

A cabin in the woods and a new acquisition

cabin in Jenny Jump State Forest

On the Sunday through Tuesday morning after Thanksgiving I went on a little road trip with the chickens and Jess out to Jenny Jump State Forest in New Jersey. Though it was a clear and mild day, there was enough snow there still to make it very picturesque.

Some do-dads from the archive

Well, I have several things waiting on my list of things to blog about, but they are things that will require some time, research and / or thoughtful writing, and it's Friday evening and I don't want to continue sitting in front of a machine, as I've already been in front of one all day.… Continue reading Some do-dads from the archive

A new web site for Electrofork!

I've been working on a new portfolio site for about a month now, and it's completed at last! It's got larger images and a much better system of navigation, and has a responsive layout so will look lovely on all the devices. I'M VERY EXCITED ABOUT IT! Go check it out here. Click all the… Continue reading A new web site for Electrofork!

a monday in autumn

November rain; grey. Dark indoors— all the lights on at midday. Wrestling with invisibles, lately, and frustrated with things beyond my control. Sometimes the freelance life has too many things outside one’s control, although it’s true of most lives.

Some Moleskine sketches from recent weeks

Such a pleasure to step back and people-watch. Divine. Good sketching, there, being invisible— the only way. Momentary moments and dead give-aways; anthropology. (Aside, it appears there's some red ink on my scanner bed— same place each scan. Note to self: time to razor and windex the scanner glass.) More sketchy sketches after the jump.>>… Continue reading Some Moleskine sketches from recent weeks

The 12 Houses Zodiac Calendar for 2015

As I posted about a lot over the past few months, I’ve designed a calendar based on the signs of the Zodiac, but re-invented as house sigils or shields, complete with a house motto that distills the nature of each sign to a single phrase (as in the Game of Thrones series and the long heraldic… Continue reading The 12 Houses Zodiac Calendar for 2015

Ball point drawings in black and red

Last couple of pages in the Moleskine from my travels have been filled with some random drawings of faces. Also, some dried bits of foliage from Flevo Park in Amsterdam. Time for a new book! I will upload photos from the trip when I can, and maybe some travel tales.

A drawing from the trip abroad

I was in Amsterdam, Paris, and Berlin for two weeks, having returned on October 9. It's sad when a long-awaited trip finds itself in the past, and I miss it. Also, in other news: The 12 Houses Zodiac calendar was fully funded! It will be going to press within a week or less, and should… Continue reading A drawing from the trip abroad

The Countdown is on: 31 hours remaining!

There are 31 hours remaining in my Kickstarter campaign to fund the publishing of my calendar! "A calendar for 2015 featuring the signs of the Zodiac reinvented as Sigils of the 12 Houses— A New Year is coming." Check out the project page at Kickstarter and join me in making this a reality! It will… Continue reading The Countdown is on: 31 hours remaining!
