That is to say, it's raining today and I'm still struggling a bit. It's getting better– but how difficult, how unsatisfactory to arrive at the end of a week with so little accomplished (as compared to what one had planned to accomplish). And not for a lack of time in this case, but a (seemingly… Continue reading the deluge and a lack of ambition

kernel panic
A couple of things. 1. All day today, I have been getting the "You need to restart your computer" message. Accompanied by a gradual darkening of the screen (picture the elegant auto-shade effect on the window of the board room at the Tyrell Corporation in Bladerunner), it's been happening on and off for months– and… Continue reading kernel panic
resistance, bargaining
I was going along at a good clip; working, drawing, writing, painting– had finally sorted out that elusive balance wherein manifold priorities were all being attended! And now I sit, again feeling overwhelmed (and mildly crippled) as the list of work has suddenly expanded; bloomed before the trees have done. compass points
I am Upstate, North and West of The City; a bit south of the Great Lake known as Ontario. It has been cold at night, with sunny and brisk daytimes. Having arrived late morning on Monday, I feel as though many days have passed, and yet few. That is the way of being away, and… Continue reading compass points
Equinox– nearly
Today began with a brutal sore throat and utter congestion, though it's much better now. First Spring head cold– hopefully the only. But then, I think I didn't have one over the winter, so maybe this is how Winter gets the boot, tomorrow being the Spring Equinox! Above: continued progress on the 24"x8" canvas.
Amsterdam IV
Showing progress of underpainting done on Friday and Saturday. On Friday night, Kim and I had our most productive Art Night in about a year. This will be part of a sort of tripdych including the Clinton Buildings with map, plus a third piece to accompany this one– a map of Amsterdam. A continuation of… Continue reading Amsterdam IV
of lapses and misleading evidence
lacunar eyes and not a hair out of place Despite all visual evidence to the contrary, today has dawned decidedly the coldest of the week– much to my dismay, as I'm longing to open windows again. Already life grows busier. March is one-third through and lists grow longer, which is a good thing, but it… Continue reading of lapses and misleading evidence

stripes and dresden
A sliver of a peek at something I began over the weekend, just because it ties in with all of the maps and stripes flying around here lately. At the moment I'm not sure where it's headed (and if it knows, it hasn't let me in on it yet). The map shows Rome– not part… Continue reading stripes and dresden
