A simple wooden bird house in the copse of trees

A simple, hand-made bird house adorned one of the trees near the house. It was lived in, and a few strands of bedding straw poked out its cozy doorway.   Apologies! This is a day late! More to come tomorrow 🙂 See all of my #Inktober drawings @edaggarart

A crow lighted in the yard for a moment

Day seventeen : A crow lit in the yard for a moment, tentatively. It tested the wind, then flew off to an unknown destination; a hooded gleam in its eye. . See all of my #Inktober drawings @edaggarart

The afternoon warmed unexpectedly— unseasonably

Day sixteen: The afternoon warmed unexpectedly— unseasonably. He'd removed his accustomed scarf on account of the change; left it coiled like a tie or a snake on the picnic table in the dooryard. There, it warmed in the sun. . See all of my #Inktober drawings @edaggarart or elizabethdaggar.com

A coconut pirate

Day fourteen: A coconut pirate was among the nautical tchotchkes and geegaws decorating the cozy kitchen.

He chopped the fallen tree into logs

Day fourteen: He chopped the fallen tree into logs, then split them into pieces suitable for the stove. He’d need enough to last the long winter. . There’s more art: @edaggarart & elizabethdaggar.com

A bird skull lay beneath the stars

Day thirteen is also Friday the 13th. I present a bird skull, perhaps a crow or raven,  'neath the glittering firmament on a moonless night. Happy Friday the 13th, readers! . And remember, there's more art: @edaggarart & elizabethdaggar.com

The coffee was still hot

Day eleven of #Inktober. The coffee was still hot, but he was nowhere to be found in the house. A window was open across the room, and a chill wind came through. . more art: @edaggarart & elizabethdaggar.com

The bicycle was still there as the sun went down

Day ten of #Inktober: The bicycle remained leaning in the clearing where it had been left hours earlier. The sun had begun to set and some stars winked into the deepening darkness high above. . A lighthouse perched along a rocky shore

Day nine of Inktober. A lighthouse perched along a rocky shore. Its slow, sweeping beam of light reminded her of the lonely sound of a freight train late at night, a sound  that always made her feel wistful and longing for both home and elsewhere simultaneously.

A small rack of antlers

Day eight of Inktober A small rack of antlers hangs on one of the walls. There is a small metal tag affixed, but nothing is inscribed there. A mystery. . Follow me @edaggarart on instagram to see more art, or @electrofork to see more photos. Even more art at: elizabethdaggar.com.
