an afternoon in Coney

Os Gemeos mural in Coney Island, Stillwell Ave

Two Fridays ago, Kim and I trained out to Coney. It was her birthday, and though we got a late start due to other obligations, had a fantastic few hours on the beach; A perfect swimming day. When we came out of the subway station, we were delighted to see a most amazing and wonderful mural, one that has eluded both of us since 2005, when it was painted by Brazilian artists, Os Gemeos (“the twins”).

Here are a few images from the extensive and wonderfully executed mural. If you’ve not seen it yet, head on down to Stillwell Avenue. At the end of the post are a couple of arm-length shots of Kim and I in the brilliant orange light of late afternoon by the sea.
