Equinox– nearly

Today began with a brutal sore throat and utter congestion, though it's much better now. First Spring head cold– hopefully the only. But then, I think I didn't have one over the winter, so maybe this is how Winter gets the boot, tomorrow being the Spring Equinox! Above: continued progress on the 24"x8" canvas.

The windows are O P E N ! and... Beginning tomorrow : one extra hour of daylight!

folderol!

1 : a useless ornament or accessory : trifle 2 : nonsense (I'm adding that as a new category – and tag!– just for fun.) First things first: looping, endless, interesting dreams came on Sunday morning– the kind that drove me to type them out upon waking as there was oto much to otherwise recall.… Continue reading folderol!

Here I sit wasting time; a google search for tuckamore (Tuckamore are spruce trees that are stunted by salt spray from the coast) then led to an image search for ice boats (eisyachts, too) which naturally led to images of houses in snow. From there is was only natural to narrow the search down to… Continue reading (none)

welcome, new year.

A Sunday afternoon of puttering. Lovely! Briefly interrupted by the realization: Network Solutions still holding my domain name hostage! (I thought I'd transferred it over a year ago.) My ongoing lease for said ephemeral domain lapsed December 29. Never having acknowledged my change of email (they had one on file from over ten years ago),… Continue reading welcome, new year.

map-making

Although I found myself dabbling in cartography just last evening, I have no intention of writing about map-making (at least not in this post), but needed something other than "Cold," or "Winter" for a title. Don't you agree? It's the thick of Holiday shopping, so I've been busy with jewelry-- making, selling, keeping track of… Continue reading map-making

NaNoWriMo

(Man, it's cold in here after the heat's been turned down all day!) Well, It's done. It's been done for several days, in fact. The "National Novel Writing Month" 50,000 word challenge! I made it, and with about 700 or so words to spare. It's by no means "finished" of course-- now it shall require… Continue reading NaNoWriMo

Winter is here.

I have been remiss with this lately. Writing other things- well, one thing; the book-in-progress! Nearly at 30,000 words, but still behind. Jewelry has been keeping me busy as well. It's frightfully cold the past few days, although it's what ought to be normal for late November. Sucks having to pay for heat; it makes… Continue reading Winter is here.

“Love is a smoke made with the fume of sighs”

Now that's a fantastic subject line. The body of the email was pretty mundane, although its closing lines are equally poetic, in their way. To wit: "Find me there and tell me a bit about your dreams. Waiting for your answer" Who writes this stuff? It makes you wonder how many among us (perhaps they… Continue reading “Love is a smoke made with the fume of sighs”
