I've been tracking calendar-map hours along with freelance project hours, and just did a quick tally– since my return Monday night, I've clocked in 20.5 hours of cartography. Last night I did some drawings to take a break from it for awhile. (they all have prominent chins...)

A Baltimore weekend
Here are a few snaps from my trip to visit Kelley in Baltimore– a smattering flavor of the oddness and utter silliness that tends to pervade our visits; laughing til it hurts. Concocting plans like the founding of The Institute of Fun (for Higher Learning)*. Or, upon seeing a hideous and depressing structure (eg The… Continue reading A Baltimore weekend
Long Island City Day

The drawing of the knight falling off the horse is fantastic, and I wish I'd noted… Continue reading inspiring imagery
In my dreams this morning…

I had also an elephant, which I subsequently lost (as a character might lose a prop to poor continuity after an edit in a film). There I stood, in the same little… Continue reading In my dreams this morning…

Three Shillings. To counterfeit is Death
Here is a detail of a three-shilling note (facsimile); one of several found in the "Interpretive Center" building of the Minisink Battleground on the banks of the Delaware River, near Narrowsburg, NY. We were up that way over the weekend to visit Ben's family for the weekend, and a bunch of us hiked up the… Continue reading Three Shillings. To counterfeit is Death
