Labor Day

I’m having a strange sense of deja vu. It’s Labor Day, and I am on deadline, so here I am sitting in front of my computer (as I have been much of the weekend), and it just occurred to me that this was also the case on Memorial Day weekend. I worked away all day, and when I went out later in search of groceries, found almost everything closed. It was a lonely feeling, but at least on that day the whole of summer was stretching out before me.

Labor Day is a sad weekend, as it marks the ‘official’ end of summer. I do enjoy autumn, but can’t help but be aware of the inevitable onset of winter just beyond it. I’m just not a fan of winter; it’s far too long in this part of the world.

My challenge today is to get my work done before the day is gone, particularly as it is meant to rain later on… And my hope is that September will continue to be gorgeous weather.
