They were all photographed in studios in Nebraska; I don’t know who they were, nor whose ancestors they might be. I acquired the portraits in a boxed lot of paper and photographic miscellany purchased on eBaY. How serious they all look, and what sartorial finery and flare– they were all well-cared for when alive (at least materially speaking).
