The bounty of texture and details in these old maps makes me wish I’d chosen to make of the year a state or province; even a territory, rather than an entire world. But then, I always get so literal-minded with projects– why should a world atlas not incorporate at least some such details? And while there is no room to render rivers and marhes in this way, the technique could be applied similarly for the large bodies of water…
