[Dream] I went to stay at the house of a friend. We were kids, maybe teens, so it was the house of her parents really. The place was magnificent– I thought. It was crowded and filled with things, and the areas to walk were narrow and had to be picked through carefully. Nowhere in the… Continue reading A house of breathing music

darkness in sleep
Ghastly and morbid, dreams of the past few days. Mutation, illness and other catastrophes have been casting themselves against a backdrop of art, work and money. May none of them prove portentious!
the glass cage
I had a dream back in mid-February, while I was in the early stages of reading Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead, and it was odd, but not really odd until about ten days later, when I reached a point in the book in which something so similar to a room from that dream was described in… Continue reading the glass cage
floating island of sod
Here is a drawing I did of a memory of a long-ago dream; one in which we visited a place where the people lived in huts on floating sod islands in a large river. It was a seasonal place– when the river rose during the flood season, they sailed elsewhere by pushing the islands with… Continue reading floating island of sod
Dreams of a city full of movement, weather and uncertain trajectories
The first part I recall was a moment of trying to sort out how to get from one part of the city to another on a grey day (and cold). I was with someone else, or several people; I had a rough idea where I was leading us, but no map and my knowledge of… Continue reading Dreams of a city full of movement, weather and uncertain trajectories
Sleep talking
According to Ben, a few days ago I was saying very strange things in my sleep. Much of it was gibberish, of course, but he managed to hear (and write down) a few lines in the midst. To wit: Nothing on this billboard, bitch. Don't go. I'll do it myself. Hahahaha!!!
dream of the boat-dwellers
There were four of us in a pickup truck; two were visitors. We were across a gulf of water from where we needed to be, but were heading back to the other side soon. We decided to stop along the water’s edge to see the view before crossing– the sun was hitting the mountains and… Continue reading dream of the boat-dwellers
a pixie in the park
We saw this pixie in Central Park on the Sunday after Thanksgiving, a day of beautiful sunshine and mild weather. Days have been darker since then and the winter weather has begun, sort of. (Well, it isn't 65º anymore, anyway.) Dreams have been dark of late as well, full of doubles, doppelgangers and floods.
Studies show dream recall at all-time high
Just a quick thing. I know I mentioned last month that I was at around 50% recall rate in terms of how many days I woke with memories intact enough to write them down. Well, it's gone even more mental this month. Every day of November I've written down at least one dream upon waking… Continue reading Studies show dream recall at all-time high
dreams and the waning of october
Lately the dreams have been mental– this whole month, just mad. I think of the twenty twenty-one days passed thus far, I have recorded at least twelve dreams. Unheard of, but I did realize last February or March (whenever it was I decided to begin writing them down again) that the more regularly one keeps… Continue reading dreams and the waning of october
