Day nine of Inktober. A lighthouse perched along a rocky shore. Its slow, sweeping beam of light reminded her of the lonely sound of a freight train late at night, a sound that always made her feel wistful and longing for both home and elsewhere simultaneously.

An anchor lay rusting among rocks and ferns
An anchor lay rusting among the rocks and ferns. The story continues, but releases very few of its secrets. I originally saw this near the saltbox house somewhere; maybe round back or on the far side of the porch. Maybe at the end of the narrow dirt and gravel driveway approaching from the main road.… Continue reading An anchor lay rusting among rocks and ferns
A single light burned late into the night in the little saltbox house
And so the story continues. Have I deferred the mystery, or deepened it? Who lives in this little house in a copse of winter trees? When they reach a point of becoming too large for my tank, I release them… Continue reading The newest beneficiary of my catch-and-release program

Well, after I'd got three of them inked, I had a few printed on card stock, for test runs. I've been looking forward to doing an hombre on the woman's hair, and I… Continue reading Hair Lines: test runs in watercolor

Five Boroughs Brewing Co. created a brew just for the upcoming event, and this is the proof for the finished labels. So fun! Below are some photos of the can and the… Continue reading Sunset Swing beer can labels
