A lighthouse perched along a rocky shore

Day nine of Inktober. A lighthouse perched along a rocky shore. Its slow, sweeping beam of light reminded her of the lonely sound of a freight train late at night, a sound  that always made her feel wistful and longing for both home and elsewhere simultaneously.

A small rack of antlers

Day eight of Inktober A small rack of antlers hangs on one of the walls. There is a small metal tag affixed, but nothing is inscribed there. A mystery. . Follow me @edaggarart on instagram to see more art, or @electrofork to see more photos. Even more art at: elizabethdaggar.com.

An anchor lay rusting among rocks and ferns

An anchor lay rusting among the rocks and ferns. The story continues, but releases very few of its secrets. I originally saw this near the saltbox house somewhere; maybe round back or on the far side of the porch. Maybe at the end of the narrow dirt and gravel driveway approaching from the main road.… Continue reading An anchor lay rusting among rocks and ferns

A single light burned late into the night in the little saltbox house

And so the story continues. Have I deferred the mystery, or deepened it? Who lives in this little house in a copse of winter trees? Why is there no fire burning within, when someone is clearly still awake upstairs? Stay tuned as the story continues to unfold. (Some progress images after the jump) I thought… Continue reading A single light burned late into the night in the little saltbox house

On a velvet dark night full of stars, the rain began

I'll let my mind percolate on it, see if a story can begin to emerge... . The newest beneficiary of my catch-and-release program

I’ve been buying pond comets from the feeder tanks at pet stores for years. Because they can grow to be almost as large as koi, I only keep them for a year or two, depending on how quickly they grow. When they reach a point of becoming too large for my tank, I release them… Continue reading The newest beneficiary of my catch-and-release program

Down the street from the Prancing Pony

Art archive today! Here are some quaint little buildings I was commissioned to illustrate a number of years ago for a scene in a video game. I believe the project ran out of funding, which was too bad, as I enjoyed working on it.

Hair Lines: test runs in watercolor

Some time back, I began a series of drawings with a project in mind: a coloring book, all about studies of hair. Well, after I'd got three of them inked, I had a few printed on card stock, for test runs. I've been looking forward to doing an hombre on the woman's hair, and I… Continue reading Hair Lines: test runs in watercolor

Sunset Swing beer can labels

Here's a first for me: Beer can label design for the Sunset Swing annual gala, held by one of my clients (Southwest Brooklyn Industrial Development Corp.). Five Boroughs Brewing Co. created a brew just for the upcoming event, and this is the proof for the finished labels. So fun! Below are some photos of the can and the… Continue reading Sunset Swing beer can labels
